Word homes!

Back in the university again today.  I'm a bit cheesed off actually.  The meeting with my supervisor went fine and I've got plenty of interesting work to do over the next few months.  I then realised that I needed to start preparing the growth media (a bit like soup) for my bugs to grow on.  This is normally quite eassy, but I had a really bastard of a recipe to follow.  I messed it up about four times and them eventually cracked. Well, I thought I cracked it.  I came in today and my bottle of media was nice and clear, but all the chemicals had precipitated out in the bottom.

Yes thats right, I've just had the chemical equivalent of being chegged-on!  I have 'bothered' growth media which couldn't be arsed to stay in solution!  Damn it's eyes! (I'd just like to point out that although media does not have eyes to damn, it certainly has some benevolent consciousness to 'cheg me on!')

Back once again......

Erm.....erm.....hello.

Long time no blog and all.  Well, there are a few reasons for that, including: having no time to write, no internet connection at home and all sorts of other nonesense. How are things going for anyone who reads this?

A few things have changed in my life. I am no longer on placement and am back at university.  I'm enjoying the lecture content this year as its a lot more interesting.  In labs , I've been working on an organism which causes probles for cystic fibrosis patients and I'm quite interested in persuing a phd on that i there are any about.  I'm now working part time at selfridges on the deli, cheese and bakery counters which suits my 'pretentious foodie' tendencies very well!

I'm in a new band with she-she doing some acoustic tuff, which is a pleasure!

Anyhoo, will fill you in, in the craig david style, at some other point when I'm not about to go and see my lab supervisor!

Ayte, bee-hatches

Alright dudes,

Erm, new section of my Blog
to announce:- ‘The Lonspigsy Theory of Life, the World and Everything.’
You needn’t look at it today, as it doesn’t have any content yet
(unless I get a chance later on).

It is essentially nonsense. It started by when I was
doing my GCSE physics coursework, but got so bored of it, I turned my write up
into a nonsensical stream of consciousness, connecting as many unrelated words
and themes as possible.  The original was co-authored by Mr John James Tysoe,
and with its resurrection, we have continued this tradition. We are on the look
out for other authors to join in the fun, so let me know if you fancy it.

Yo, ho ho and a bottle of fanta...

Word homes,

Erm, yeah. I’m in work again and writing an entry on time I don’t have. I’ve got tonnes of work to do, so those of you with the inclination to pray, can you pray for me please!

I’m quite annoyed about the Black LabelSociety gig. It was cancelled. This was the official reason from the BLS website:-

“The BLS Gig in Manchester was pulled due to the violent behaviour of the biker gang ''Satan’s Slaves Motorcycle Club''

Reportedly, The Satan’s Slaves attacked a dozen fans in Manchester Saturday for simply wearing a BLS t-shirt or an item or clothing with the BLS emblem on. This was apparently due to the fact that the bands logo shares a strong resemblance to that of the emblem of the SSMC.

As a result of this band managers advised fans to remove all items of BLS merchandise clothing.

The situation soon worsened, however, as the Satan’s Slaves threatened to attack all those present at the gig if it commenced and as a result Zakk Wylde chose to pull the gig for the safety of his fans “

 Yeah. Safe.

Its not like I’d been waiting for ages to see one of my favourite guitarists ever or anything. No, no…..it alright ‘Satan’s bifkin rubbers,’ you go a head and spit your dummies because some one is looking vaguely similar. It’s alright lads. I’m sure the hundreds of 40 something, 6ft wide metalers wearing leathers and chains, waiting to see a particularly heavy band, will completely understand and support your little tantrum.

 Idiots.

Anyways, stay tuned for the new section to my blog:- ‘The Lonspigsy Theory’ arriving in the next week.

Untill then, wzpect the biker boyz, cos they don’t like it when you look similar, ayte!

It would be a bad idea to not blog for ages (d'you see what I did there?)

Alright dudes,

Its been a while to quote that eternally displease, polite metal band ‘staind.’ Sorry, that should read either ‘metal’ band or half-arsed wannabes, whichever you prefer!

Erm, life. Yeah. Went to the wedding of Pete and Katy Myers a couple of weeks back now. Was a pleasure. Great to see him tethered down and to appear so very much in love. Aaaaaah. Keep it emo, ayte! The drive down with Pash and Pash in the wagon of love was a pleasure and although I have forgotten their names (I’m rubbish with names), I must say thank you to Pash’s girlfriend and family for being so lovely and providing us with some bacon-butty din dins and brews on the way!

Well, what else? Bit stressed about the amount of work I have to do before I finish my placement in 7 weeks time. Safe.

Went for an interview at Selfridges yesterday (oooh, check me out!). I hope I get it. Was a bit of a long winded process though. Online application, phone interview, proper interview, group exercises, written exercise……

Looking forward to Greenbelt and Merseyfest I must say. Andy, are you making the ‘dread gazebo’ this year or are we just nicking all of Greasby scouts equipment again? (Jonny grey you are a legend!)

A big welcome to Gwegowy! Nice to see you’ve join the 20six bifkin boys, ayte!

Went to see UnderOath last week, cos a) they are Christian proper rock music, b) have a reputation for being a good gig and c) God told me to go. Several things happened:-

  • Was a good gig.
  • God put me in touch with a guy called Nathan (who is a mate of greg’s apparently) that night. He has been blessed with a similar alternative church vision to me and a similar heart for certain groups of people. That’s six people who have shared this vision now, whom God has connected up over the past three months. Coincidence? Methinks not……
  • Got the chance to talk to some kids outside about God.
  • Got the chance to talk to a friend of Nathan’s who has just started going to church with him and is well on her way to returning to God.
  • Got the chance to speak to a mate form the rock society who used to be a Christian and share some of the gospel with him.
  • Caz W wanted to stick around and chat to the band afterwards, so we did and it was a please to pray blessings on them and stuff. Plus, I was talking to UnderOath’s keyboard player about another Christian band call ‘the showdown’ who haven’t really released/toured over here yet (kind of a cross between In flames and machine head, only better than that). It turned out that the happened to be ‘some of his best friends.’ He then gave me his showdown t-shirt, saying he could get hundreds of them when he next sees the guys, so I might as well have it! Loving it.

Off to see Zakk Wylde (one of my favourite guitarists) and Black Label Society on sat. Should be awesome.

Sorry, another essay there!

Bloggy, bloggy, bloggy.....

Alright dude,

Haven’t blogged in an age. How are we all,
eh?....good, good…..

Well, in brief:-

  • size=2 face=Arial>Work is going alright,
but I have tonnes of my project to do and that’s a slight problem.
My project works, but it does not illustrate the results in quite as clear
cut way as I would like.

  • size=2 face=Arial>Got my final year project
sorted out today. I will be working under Dr M. Kertesz on the topic ‘Characterization
    of a hypertransmissible Pseudomonas aeruginosa’

face=Arial>(Ooooooh…..check
me out!) Project looks very interesting! Ok……I am the guy from the
yakult advert.

  • size=2 face=Arial>My shared house is a bit
rubbish at the mo. My mate Nick is about to leave for good, which is a
shame as I have lived with him for three years. I am owed a lot of money
by the other two for a gas bill. It needs paying, but I’m not seeing
    any money……….

  • size=2 face=Arial>My guitar playing is
going great as my lessons have really taken effect, taking me from
mediocre to ok. Playing some Randy Rhodes and Nuno Bettencourt stuff at
    the mo. Cheesey, but great!

  • size=2 face=Arial>Amanda is doing fine,
although her exams are a bit nasty.

  • size=2 face=Arial>Gig with ‘Fling’
(Greg and Andy) the other weekend was great fun. Realised I like fretless basses…….
    (I’m becoming a proper muso-idiot! Get in!)

  • size=2 face=Arial>Living the dream!

  • size=2 face=Arial>Biffing the Kin!

  • size=2 face=Arial>Steve

  • size=2 face=Arial>Fitz

  • size=2 face=Arial>Craig

  • size=2 face=Arial>Looking forward to w:st="on">Greenbelt. Mikey, if
you read this, what are you up to that weekend? Fancy it?

  • size=2 face=Arial>Pete Myers is getting
married weekend after next! Crazy, but amazing. All the best to them. Danny
G and myself will be off on a jaunt down to Essex for it (getting a lift
from Pashey down there, what a good lad. Nothing funny though!)

  • size=2 face=Arial>Been enjoying a bit of ‘….and
you will know us by the trail of dead….’ and ‘tree63’/’tree.’
That futureheads single rocks too. Kinda like ‘Elvis Costello and
    the Attractions’ meets ‘The Jam.’

  • size=2 face=Arial>Discovered how to use
    bullet points effectively…..

  • size=2 face=Arial>Bothered.
